If you used Quicken before, but don’t want to pay for it anymore you can try GnuCash as a free alternative. GnuCash is of all free software available the one that has most similarities to Quicken (the most widely spread and used personal finance software, albeit not a free one).
GnuCash supports scheduling recurring transactions, it has double entry accounting and also if you used to be a Quicken user it is helpful to know that you can import and export Quicken files in GnuCash. It is freely licensed and available for GNU/Linux, BSD, Solaris, Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows.
It can be downloaded from http://www.gnucash.org .
